SILVER MEDAL | Sunset International Wine Competition 2019
A luxurious ruby-red rarity, FRFW's well-balanced, juicy, fruit-forward blend of organic rose and hibiscus flowers -- sold out for nearly a year -- is finally back in stock!
"Vibrant, translucent magenta color, exploding with juicy flavors of sour cherry, cranberry and orange, along with the sorts of flavors one might expect from an oak barrel... despite the wine never having touched oak." (San Francisco Chronicle)
"Pinot, meet your match!" (Mercury News)
"A playful take on red wine... its tannins are velvety [and] it has earthy and herbal notes on the palate." (Wine Enthusiast)
"Sandalwood, tart cherry and rhubarb notes." (Wine Spectator)
"Show-stopping... gorgeously hued, stunningly textured, and brilliantly perfumed, with aromas of rose petal, raspberry, and sage." (Edible East Bay)
Tasting Notes & Pairings
THE WINE: Handcrafted in small batches from locally sourced, organically farmed rose and hibiscus flowers and oranges—not grapes.
COLOR & AROMA: Electric ruby-red in the glass, with hints of sandalwood and vanilla on the nose.
TASTE: Dry and light-bodied, a harmonious balance of earth and fruit flavors, sage and raspberry, luxuriously spicy with velvet tannins.
PAIRINGS: Zesty barbeque, charcuterie, Shakshouka, classic Italian or Spanish dishes, and dark chocolate!
Best served chilled, then give the wine lots of swirls and it will really open up and grow in breadth and aromatics as it warms to room temps. Then chill or not to taste. Cheers!
